Eggs and bunnies

Easter was soo fun this year! But I really think it is every year – I love everything about Easter –  Springtime, the candy, the eggs, the celebration of Christ. We were lucky enough to have Grandma  Susan and Grandpa Gary here with us, and we celebrated Susan’s birthday on Easter as well!

The egg hunt sponsored by our community is always a huge, wonderful event, with over 30,000 eggs! Seriously. easter, jensens, meredith 027easter, jensens, meredith 018  easter, jensens, meredith 026

Of course, time spent wrastlin’ with Daddy-O was almost as much fun as the egg hunt.

And then they got to take their pictures taken with the Easter bunny. This bunny didn’t seem overly fond of little kids.

And here are the little darlings in their Easter clothes! easter, jensens, meredith 031easter, jensens, meredith 030easter, jensens, meredith 032

And here is the Easter egg hunt in our back yard. Please don’t note the appalling lack of springtime color – we do live in the Rocky Mountains, after all.

Nothing is going to stop this girl from getting to her eggs!

Then its back inside, to check out the loot. A few of the eggs had dollar bills in them. (What a generous bunny we had this year…)

Finally, there was only one egg with money in it left. After a long search, Chloe found it!  Note the stick in her hair.

For dinner that fun day, we had Uncle Bruce and Aunt Joanne, as well as Grandma and Grandpa. Easter, Grandma’s birthday - such a fun family day!

Winter Joys

Winter is LONG in Colorado. Lots of people here love it; I don’t. I like snow when we are skiing and during December, January and February. But, alas, it goes on and on in the Rocky Mountains…today is the middle of our kids’ spring break, and I just shoveled over two feet  of snow from the driveway.

But, amidst the weather inconveniences, winter 2010 has had many joys also.

Chloe had her baptism the first weekend in February, and Grandma and Grandpa Jensen came from Utah to be with her. It was a wonderful day! She was so grown up and looked like a southern belle in the dress Grandma Susan made for her. Aunt Joanne James made Chloe’s American Girl doll Samantha a beautiful white dress, also! winter 2010 105winter 2010 113 winter 2010 116 winter 2010 001winter 2010 117

Then, of course, there was Valentine’s Day! I was in charge of the party for Chloe’s second grade class, which was tons of fun. They frosted heart-shaped sugar cookies, and played bingo with conversation hearts, and made necklaces with foam conversation hearts.winter 2010 125   winter 2010 127winter 2010 126winter 2010 124

The lovely weather on valentine’s Day!

The next event was Derek’s trip to the WAC tournament in Reno, Nevada. His good friend from college, Scott Springer, meets up with him each year to cheer on their alma mater, Utah State University. Though the boys in blue didn’t win the tournament this year, my boy had a great time.winter 2010 027 winter 2010 023

Then came St. Patricks Day. It started with green eggs and toast with green butter. Yum – doesn’t that look appetizing?winter 2010 028winter 2010 030

Then we went to our sweet friends, the Watabes, for their annual green-and-white celebration. I love how this Japanese American family strictly celebrates the Irish holiday every year! winter 2010 144 winter 2010 146 winter 2010 147 winter 2010 031 winter 2010 134

I guess now we share that we are expecting another baby in the beginning of November! Yay! Everyone is sooo excited, including my tummy, which has popped out already.winter 2010 037
